I will add that the Government of Mongolia has been working very diligently. They stayed up until midnight a couple of days in a row. Also, the Mongolian are very aware and watchful of the Oyu Tolgoi agreement such that the Government can't help but be mindful of the watchful citizens.

I am also hopeful that we do get things done soon. I also hope that the agreements are made with western companies as they are more likely to be transparent and ethical in their practices.

Most importantly, I hope that the agreement is in the best interest of Mongolian people and Mongolia as a whole. I hope that we Mongolians use the benefits from these large mining agreements to develop the education sector fitting for the informal and tech savvy age of today (most critical) as well as infrastructure.

Hi Chris, Thanks for the comment. I do agree things have stalled somewhat over the past year as they have everywhere, in no small part because of the economic situation. I am remaining optimistic at the moment hoping the Government of Mongolia realize, after six long years of negotiations, that they need to approve Oyu Tolgoi in particular and attract additional foreign investment in general. I personally see foreign investors continuing to show interest in investing in Mongolia, albeit at a slower rate than in the past.

Is the mongolian government really welcoming the international investors? According to the international an national press it is all but welcoming.

"Now is certainly the time to consider investing in this up and coming economy"? The reverse is true, foreign investors are now packing up and leaving Mongolia, not investing in it.... When Mongolia will once again become a competitive investment destination then foreign investors will return, in the mean time there are better opportunities elsewhere..
